TOWN BOARD MEETINGS

The Middlesex Governing Body’s regular scheduled meeting is held the second Monday in each month in the conference room of the Town Hall located at 10232 S. Nash Street. This is an open meeting and the public is invited to attend.  A public comment session is held during every regularly scheduled town meeting. Anyone wishing to be placed on the agenda should request so in writing to  Mayor Lewis, PO Box 69, Middlesex, NC 27557, or fax request to 252-235-5762, stating your name, affiliation, subject matter, approximate time requested, and a phone number you may be reached. Requests must be received prior to the Thursday before the meeting in order to be considered.

Anyone wishing to review the agenda packet can review a copy in the Clerk’s office at the Town Hall at 10232 S. Nash Street during normal business hours on the Monday of the meeting.  You may request a copy of the packet at the copy rate as established by the Board at any time.

Public HearingLimit comments to the subject of the public hearing

Public Comment PeriodLimit comments to 3 minutes

            Speaker must use decorum, ie proper behavior that show respect and good manners

            Criticism is allowed but insults and personal attacks are not allowed.

All Other Business

            No comments allowed

            No questions allowed

            No interruptions of any sort allowed

Should any of the above rules be violated the speaker will be given a warning

A second violation will result in speaker being asked to leave the podium or leave the meeting

Failure to leave the meeting when so directed by the presiding officer is a misdemeanor (S143-318-17) and the police will remove and may arrest the speaker.
